Full Description: Up for bid is a 1959 karmann ghia coupe. Vin#2384479. Exterior color is original aero silver with white roof( actually called gray-white). Car was donated to a blind school in Pennsylvania and later sold to Shelley's Foreign Auto from whom I purchased the car in 1996. Extensive body-off restoration was done over the last ten years using very minimum amount of bondo where possible. Car has new floor pans, re-chromed euro bumpers and every single component that needed re-chroming. Rear view mirror has been restored along with original waffle-style sunvisors. New headliner is already installed. Car has been converted to 12-volt system and has brand new European headlights. Guages were restored by Palo Alto Speeedometers in California and steering wheel as well by Koch's. Engine is a newly rebuilt 1600cc with a 1967 transmission. Original 36 hp is available if needed. Car rides on new white wall tires. Chrome trims for front and rear windshields are available (even though not installed yet) and have been re-chromed. Original dash pad has been restored and installed. Grab handle and ash tray are being restored and are available. Unfortunately I do not have upholstery parts ( carpet, seat covers, and door panels) for this car but will be happy to provide sources. Please note that UPHOLSTERY has to be completed by buyer. I have original seats for the car. Those involved with restoration never documented the process. So I have no pictures. Buyer is however welcome to thoroughly examine car before final purchase. I have tried to cover as much as possible in describing this car. I will however provide answers to questions not already covered above. Good luck.
