EMPI Camber Compensator

I'm sure most of you have heard of the original EMPI Camber Compensator to improve the handling of the Ghia's rear end.

I've been trying to find an original one but I'm still looking...anyone know which is the best of the modern equivalent?

Hi John, my coupe has one fitted.
It was on it when i bought the car,not sure if its Empi?
Defintely old,cloth straps around the axle tubes!

I noticed Eric Outland has some reconditioned ones for sale on The Samba. I've known Eric for a few years but I don't know if he'll lower his $325 asking price. They are nice though.

I also was interested in such a compensator and checked it out with Eric who has a few of them for sale,however he told me that we need for our lowlights the ones for the split case tranny and they are not $325 but $680!!!!,wich I think is a bit over the edge... but as always it is just howmuch you want to spend...

I have a diffrent versiont that was installed on my 59.It resembles a "Z" configuration. My dad had it installed on the car in the early 60s.

Do you have a picure of the Z compensator,was it an original option or self made,

Cleaned the gunk off mine,turns out to be an empi item
Writing reads - empi - patent applied for.

I think you must have a really early one Russ. I'm no EMPI expert but the cloth straps and the style of the EMPI labelling looks as if it's early. Post it on the Samba Accessory forum...there are a lot of experts there.
